Featured Friday: Vinny the Don
Greetings everyone! We anticipate our readers are gearing up for a relaxing weekend and we welcome you all back to another Featured Friday segment. We hope you were all able to get a chance to read our blogs within this past week, where Birdi shows you how to take beautiful Moon Photography and we Featured Just Water last Friday which was so amazing to learn how they are currently changing the water industry. This weeks segment is one of my most special features because it hits so close to home, quite literally. Time to feature an amazingly artistic music maker and an even better brother.
Vinny the Don is a multi-faceted creative music producer who recently dropped his career debut EP, just in time to add to all of your summer music playlist. His EP showcases his diverse ability to mix auditory catching beats and unique vocals creating a wonderful blend of house music that catches your ears immediately. He released his first EP in 2021 but his love for music has stemmed as far back as his childhood. Growing up in a musically diverse household he draws a lot of his inspiration for creating his music, from artists he heard throughout his entire life like; The Beatles, Skrillex, and Daft Punk. He began his passion for creating music back in 2017 when he originally started buying musical equipment and discovering his sound. In 2018 he started and joined a band, his instrument being the Bass guitar, and had a really fun time creating and playing with his band buddies. However, he decided in 2020 his passion aligned within producing beats and mixing together sounds electronically. Throughout his journey he has been fortunate enough to divulge into multiple different aspects of music which has lead him to finding his own unique sound that has been so fun to watch evolve.
With Vincent dropping his initial EP it is so exciting to see how much talent was shown within his first project and how much anticipation there is around what he is going to do next. He noted that he is currently working on his next project which he hopes to be dropping sometime within the next 3-6 months. He also has a lot of other fun interest which include DJing, creating art, and mixing live music together, which has been so fun to have around the house. When asked what his long term hopes and goals are within music he stated he is working to turn his passion in creating music into a full time sustainable career. He would love to continue to drop profitable music, produce beats for other artists, and perform mixing and DJing for live events. Vincent also stated that his dream event to perform for would be the famous Coachella, so catch this mans on the lineup sometime very soon.
As Vincent’s sister it has been so inspiring watching him throughout his musical journey. I remember when he was ten years old holding this huge bass guitar and wondering what was to come of this hobby. To the current, which is hearing him in live time make his EP in his room above me which is so crazy literally hearing a song be built from one beat into a full track. He has continued to surprise me with his determination and how musically gifted he has become and in my personal opinion his music is simply amazing. Even being able to sit down with him to interview and photoshoot him for this Featured Friday, everything has become so surreal and I am so excited to watch him continually grow. One of the last questions I asked him was who in his life personally inspires him and he thought about it for a second. He stated his homies (you know who you are apparently) , our mom, and me (which yes I was crying in the club). Our journey has not always been the easiest but I could not explain the honor its been to go through this life together and to be able to inspire one another to grow and chase our passions. Vincent is an inspiring and caring soul which reflects within his music, his connections to people, and genuinely throughout his life. I have to take the moment to gush about his EP which I am completely obsessed with and probably have already listened to his song Love Me over a hundred times, if you have not already listened to it you need to ASAP. I am so proud of you baby bro and I can’t wait to be your stage manager, we’re going to get to Coachella don’t you worry. Vincent’s piece of advice to all aspiring music makers is to follow your own sound, find what fills your ears with passion, be yourself, and to do you boo. And at OnBrand we could not agree more, whether you create music or not, these are amazing words to live your everyday life within.
