Featured Friday: Revival Food Hall
Hello, hello, hello Everyone and welcome back to our Featured Friday segment! I hope you are all enjoying your summer June days and soaking up some amazing weather wherever you're at, currently, I am tucked away in this week's establishment hiding from an insane thunderstorm. Thank you all to those who continue to come back every week to connect with us and our featured segments. Make sure you check out last week's Feature where we highlight and interview Sarah from the MAKE Literature company which is a non-profit arts organization. Chicago has been such an absolute blast and it's been amazing to connect with so many interesting businesses while we have been out here, excitingly enough however we will be getting back on the road and traveling to Seattle very soon. If anyone has any business recommendations or spots for Seattle please send them our way! Without further ado, let us get right on to this week's exciting Feature.
Revival Food Hall has been an establishment that I have had a crush on since two years previous when I visited the windy city for the first time. We accidentally stumbled into this gorgeous building during a tour that we had to continue with but I always knew I wanted to come back and explore the diverse Food Hall someday. When we had the opportunity to fully explore this food hall and be able to Feature it in our blog series I was over the moon, and I can truly say the food selection was nothing short of a great experience. The food hall is tucked away in the financial district in a gorgeous large building but once you swing open the revolving doors and step food into the building you are instantly transported. The modern and beautifully decorated space has a plethora of unique lighting features, dozens of diverse food selections, and a lively scene of people from all walks of life enjoying meals with their loved ones. They have a vast array of art and pictures all over the walls depicting memories of different famous people and events that roamed these halls.
After learning more about the Food Hall this business actually opened up a lively space for small businesses to mark their space in the ever-growing financial district. Before they opened in 2016 most of this area only had chain fast food restaurants, but now they have over 15 small businesses who have a place to call home in this fantastic area really offering the residents better and healthier food options. There is so many options to choose from which range from Indonesian food, Poke, Sandwiches, and a Charcuterie spot all offering something completely diverse to the next. After much contemplation, I settled on a Filipino Cuisine spot and ordered the Sisig Rice plate and Lumpia. Birdi was immediately drawn to a delicious modern Southern food spot and ordered a chicken sandwich. Both dishes filled our palettes with so much flavor and both entrees were so amazing it was impossible to pick a favorite (mine was defiantly better, sorry not sorry). After enjoying our delicious lunch we headed over to the main Revival cafe and full bar area and ordered some cocktails. I tried the signature cocktail called Art Institute which contained Vodka, strawberry, and botanicals that offered a sweet and pleasant taste. Birdi tried the lion's tail that contained an interesting bourbon blend. All of the food and drink options that we tried were so absolutely yummy and I can’t wait to come back and try a whole new selection of food options.
If you ever come to Chicago this is an absolute must try establishment. The only warning I would offer is to continuously check the time that the hall is open, since every time I have checked it has ranged. I would say to come during the peak lunch hour times which is around noon since it is located in the financial area a lot of the inside small businesses close early. The best time to be able to enjoy the entire experience is to come and dine in for an exquisite lunch. However, it is really amazing to watch community hall areas pop up in these high grade districts to offer diversity in these modern cities and give the surrounding citizens an area to socialize and break the normal day to day grind. I have visited a few of these halls all over the world and this one is by far one of my favorites. Thank you to this amazing food hall establishment for everything you do for the community and we give this place a high rating.
Thank you to every one of our readers and supporters. I can’t believe this is our 30th Featured Friday, and we feel so blessed to have the opportunity to continue on these endeavors. I can’t wait to see who else we get to meet and what businesses we will be able to Feature. We hope you have an absolutely kick-ass Friday and can enjoy a delicious meal. We will see you all next week.
Stay Safe and Happy Travels.
