Featured Friday: Stan’s Donuts
Happy Friday everyone!! I hope you are enjoying your fabulous Friday as much as we are out here in Chicago. The Chicago cubs are winning, Im going to a five star restaurant tonight, and some club with bottle service so I am in a stellar mood today. To make this day an even bigger thrill for you and I, we have put together a wonderful Featured Friday that is still making my mouth water. If you missed last weeks Featured Friday we highlighted such an amazing story, business, and business owners at the lovely Pilot Project Brewing company that is also located here in Chicago, and is a must read! Thank you all for your continued support and reading our blogs and I am excited for this weeks so lets jump in.
All week long we saw people walking around with pink donut boxes with the cutest logo and my interests suddenly peaked. With a quick Google search later I found quite quickly the entire craze behind these delicious pink donuts that are taking over Chicago. Stans Donuts and Coffee only began eight years ago but Chicagoans seemingly can’t get enough of these donuts so they have grown from their initial location to 13 more. To see a small business donut shop grow to this size all within the same city, I now HAD to try these donuts, and let me tell you it might be criminal for a donut to be this delectable. Stan’s donuts simply blew us away in their quality, design, location decoration, and overall story and definitely deserves all of their praise.
Their origin story funny enough comes from our coast, California, where two men created an amazing partnership in LA and decided to combine their love of bread, food, business, and Chicago to open up their first establishment here in Illinois. They have a really diverse menu that has something for every customer which includes a crazy lineup of unique donuts, a gelato shop, and an excellent coffee bar that creates a whimsical experience from young to old. Their interior location at Michigan Avenue had so many cute and aesthetic touches that made the entire experience adorable. Pink walls, brown furnishing, imagery from Chicago, and bright signage made for an awesome impression as soon as you set foot into the building. Their donuts are priced by a colored tiered system so we were able to try two from each tier, and holy cow I don’t know how but I literally fell in love with every single donut. So yes, I now have six donut boyfriends, it's been a great week. They have a donut for every taste palette, seriously, including Toffee cake, classic glazed, lemon espresso Bismark, peanut butter pocket, and cherry old fashioned. Dont tell my other boyfriends but my hands down favorite was the caramel marshmallow pocket, which literally melted in my mouth with the most amazing taste combination. Birdi’s favorite was the red velvet which immediately drew him as a long time red velvet fanatic.
All in all we give Stan’s Donuts a highly glowing review and honestly can’t wait to go back (and back again). This company fit perfectly into our segment with their quick small business growth, how passionate they are about using high grade quality ingredients in their food, and included vegan accommodation we are blown away! When you find yourself in Chicago next time you need to make a stop here and thank me later. We hope you all have a fantastic weekend and can find a delectable treat to enjoy.
