Hello, hello, hello everyone! How is everyone doing this awesome week? We are so excited to bring you this weeks Featured Friday and our honest detox journey. Being able to try all these new businesses and products, then to be able to relay our experiences to our readers has been so extremely fun. We cant wait to continue to connect with new businesses that you guys recommend to us with. Currently, I am in the best mood ever because I just finished my detox and could actually have my avocado toast this morning so we are just grateful to be living our best lives and just slaying the game out here. Time to jump into this weeks Featured Friday.

With a little back round, Birdi and I have been on a relatively strict weight loss plan so when the new year was starting to come up we decided this would be a great time to take our health up an extra step and try some kind of detox. We researched a ton of companies and detoxes looking for the best option to fit our needs, and decided on the famous Pressed Juicery three-day juice detoxing plan. The company and its message really peaked our interests and we felt the juice detox would be a great way to cleanse and reboot our system for the new year. Pressed Juiciery has a ton of different healthy options to fit everyone’s health needs from different juice detoxes to even vegan soft serves. When looking at the detoxes they have different juice packs and whether you want to cleanse half days or full days. We decided to do the full day Cleanse 2 with 6 juices, which is their most popular pack, for three days. Going into this detox I genuinely didn’t put a lot of thought into the cleanse and relatively felt like I wasn’t going to have that hard of a time. However, now that I have finished the cleanse I can confidently say that I am so proud that we finished it because I honestly struggled more than I thought I was going to. Now that the detox is over there are a lot of things that I would do differently next time and I feel this is truly a great experience that everyone should try at least once.

The base of the detox is you have six different juices that you must fully consume for three days straight to help shed and push out any toxins and build up throughout your system. I would say the system that worked best for Birdi and I was starting our first juice the latest at 10am and being done with the last juice by 8pm, taking each juice 2 hours after the other. I am going to be totally honest with everyone, I have a very sweet palette and my taste buds just truly loves rich creamy food, so these juices didn’t totally appease my palette. However, I would defiantly say all of the juices are one hundred percent doable and I found most of them to be enjoyable. Juice #2 for the day is the absolute homie and by far my favorite juice, and #4 was by far my hardest juice to get through, if that gives any reference. One thing I found with drinking the juice as well, is I would sip on my juice longer than I realized and by the time I would finish one it was already time to drink the next one, so I constantly kept feeling like I needed to catch up on the juices. Next time, I would follow Birdi’s plan, where he would sit down, consciously finish his juice within a few minutes, and then not have to worry about the next juice for a couple hours. With my casual juice plan, I would also work through the day which lead to me forgetting to finish some of my juices, which I will agree I took a lose on.

Honestly, the first two days Birdi and I did really well. We still worked out in the morning, was able to keep our energy up, and worked on projects throughout the day. I also found chewing gum really helped keep my mouth preoccupied when I was feeling snackish and bored. However, I would defiantly have to say we both really struggled with day three. Day three was when we both felt the most affects of honestly being hangry and really missing food. Through the three days, we both also had a hard time falling asleep and staying asleep with the detox, which we found out through talking to other people who did the same detox found similar results. So with the combination of low sleep and a juice detox diet, our moods wavered the most. If I were to do the detox again I would plan to have a relatively easy and low energy day planned for the third day. It’s important to continue to tell yourself through your detox that your body is receiving all the nutrients it needs and that detoxing is not a super easy and glamorous thing to do, and it’s okay to struggle. Through my detox I kept feeling low self confidence because of how much my body struggled but then I realized that this is not suppose to be the most fun or simple thing, I am making a conscious step to try something new, healthy, and different for my body and now I have such a new appreciation and confidence. I can honestly say I appreciate all food now, and genuinely even enjoyed my routine protein coffee and avocado toast this morning. This really pushed me to want to only put healthy food and substances into my body moving forward and to look at everything more consciously. If I were to do the detox again I would probably only do the half day detoxes and double the amount of water I usually drink. Also, after officially completing my detox I lost three pounds and feel very light and clean and ready to continue on my health journey.

Pressed Juiciery is a fabulous company that has so many products that I am excited to continue to try, especially their açaí bowls. It is also important to mention that the company is sourced actually from California’s Central Valley, they have made huge community effort outreach through COVID, and they firmly stand behind making high-nutrition a realistic option for everyone. A huge shout out to such a fun and healthy company, and its truly been a pleasure trying out your different products and brand.

Now that I have finished my cleanse in time for my birthday, I am so very excited to feel like my absolute best self through this weekend and next week. Thank you all for reading this weeks Featured Friday, it’s truly a pleasure. We hope you have a great weekend, and we will see you on our next blog.
