Featured Friday: Emily Mantra
Hello lovelies and Happy Friday! I cant believe we are wrapping up the first week of February and Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Thank you all for reading our Featured Fridays, and please continue to connect with us! Our favorite part truly has been getting to know so many different souls and people. Without further ado, I am very excited to spotlight an extremely talented local artist and someone I would call a dear friend.
We are extremely honored to highlight the marvelous Emily Mantra and her business for this weeks Featured Friday and would love to showcase her amazing work that she has created. Emily is an incredibly diverse and multifaceted individual, which in turn has driven her to create exceptional artwork that captures herself and others. When working and talking with Emily during this process we discussed a large variety of topics that included body image, spirituality, finding ones purpose, expression, and the application of art and beauty throughout life, and how this reflects her artwork. Some of her diverse talents and projects include wood burning, painting, and geo-art. Emily has always known of her artist capabilities and been very interested in different kinds of arts and crafts from a young age. Being someone who has battled with depression she expresses that art has been her outlet and safe space over the years. She prides herself on the diversity of her work, noting that many artists have a particular style or niche but she loves the fact that her art is style-less, if you will. Through a mixture of psychedelics and therapy over the years she has come to realize that she doesn’t need to feel the pressure by society to pick just one thing, so she draws inspiration from exploring different mediums, textures, and ideas when creating her art and living life in general. In her own words, “My life is art, and I hope to inspire people through my pieces and variety that they realize the human experience itself is art and life is to short to miss out on self expression!”. This message really resonated with us at OnBrand because to be able to know you inspire yourself and others to create something beautiful and exceptional and to be able to live a fulfilling life is exactly our message and what we strive for every single day. Emily is such a special person because she is as inspiring in her day to day life as she is in her artwork, which makes conversations with her more interesting and fun.
Her art business, that she currently runs personally and can be in contact with through her Instagram, she calls “a work in progress and probably will always be”. Her drive is to be able to create personal pieces for her clients that will speak to them and give them something unique. Instead of focusing on mass producing, she draws attention to creating products or canvas’s that feel authentic in the moment or being able to help create and pull clients vision of art together and bring them to life. Emily’s art and business is completely done and made by her and she locally sources her art supplies and materials from an arts and craftsman store in Berkeley, CA. A fun fact about Emily’s business is the skateboards that she works on and burns are actually recycled! They are donated to her once they can not be ridden anymore and then she sands them down herself to make her artwork.
Emily really wants our readers to know to always remember to do things that light you up, feed your passion, and to always show up unequivocally as YOU. It has been so inspiring to work with such a fun and spirited individual and through this process it has been so amazing to see someone so dedicated to creating and living through art. Emily actually gave me one of her geo-art pink pieces that I place right next to my vanity, and I can truly say it has brought such beautiful vibrations and energy to the place where I spend some of my favorite time. I hope everyone gets the chance to check out her beautiful work and to be able to find the perfect place in your home for one of her pieces. Emily is also running a Giveaway on her instagram page to win some Valentines day goodies along with another local business, so be sure to go check out her page @emilymantraxoxo. Next week, we are excited to be presenting a Featured Friday to help you get ready for Valentine’s Day and we will see you next week!
Stay Safe and Happy Travels,
