Featured Friday: Paso Robles Tour
Hello, Hello, Hello everybody, Happy April! I hope you are all doing great, the weather has been getting warmer and we’re thrilled that summer is just around the corner. Our journey has been so fun and unique in being able to connect with businesses, brands, and other twenty-somethings, and we would to love to continue to connect with more people. Another week has come with another Featured Friday however this week is a little different because we're going to be taking you on a little tour!
My family have been huge wine drinkers ever since I can remember and they swear by the fact that Paso Robles is one of the best places ever to go wine tasting. They started tasting there when Paso only had about twenty wineries about twenty years ago and now there are over 200 hundred different wineries. Every year a large group of my family and friends get together to visit as many wineries as possible in the area and fortunately enough this was my first year to be able to go. We had such an amazing time visiting all of the beautiful wineries, tasting all of the varietals, and connecting with the owners and wine makers. We had such an amazing time, that we wanted to take you on a little tour of some of our favorite wineries and encourage you all take a trip to Paso Robles and visit these amazing locations. I have officially converted as a red wine drinker about a month ago and it was so amazing to appreciate all of the red wine blends and funny enough we came home with about ten different bottles. I wanted to say a quick thank you to all of these wineries for taking the time to connect with us and gifting us a bottle of your favorite wine! Let's jump into our Feature.
Pear Valley Winery
We will start with Pear Valley, and let me tell you, this location was absolutely gorgeous. This location was actually the first winery that we visited on our tour and it was such a perfect place to start. This winery sits at the bottom of a hill that you can walk or drive up to that has a drop dead gorgeous view of the entire Paso Robles area, and you can even get married up there! Their wines are also extremely yummy which included a great Stainless Steel Chardonnay, the Fruition, and an Orange Muscat that I honestly dream about at night. The entire staff at Pear Valley were an absolute delight, and our pourer was extremely knowledgable about the wines that we were tasting and about their crops. This is an amazing winery that should be visited when in the Paso Robles area and I can’t wait to go back.
Arndt Winery
Another exceptional winery that we visited was Ardnt winery which also blew us away and had such an amazing selection of wines. This winery location had a couple of different wine makers which offers a really great experience if you are interested in trying multiple labels. The wine maker, Arndt, actually spent a significant amount of time connecting with us about him and his wines, and it was super awesome getting to know him on a personal level. He was exceptionally proud of his wine and his journey and it made us feel even more connected with him and his wines. His varietals were exceptionally yummy and I highly recommend trying his Zinfandel, Cab, and Birdi believes the Dusse was one of his favorites of the entire trip (years 2014-2016). This is another fabulous winery to check out and to add to your list of wineries that you should visit in your life time.
Tobin James Winery
Before coming on the trip, Tobin James was my most anticipated winery because they are my grandparents absolute favorite and have been wine club members for over ten years. Let me tell you, Tobin James will be the first winery I will be a wine club member for and absolutely fell in love with the entire experience. Through in through the winery surpassed all of expectations for how beautiful the location sat between their vineyards, all of their wines were absolutely delicious, and “G” has been a family friend for a very long time and his customer service completely made the entire day. Some of the wines that particularly caught my interest was their Fatboy, GSM, champagne, and merlot. We had such a great time tasting the wines and joking around with G, who even renamed Birdi and only wants to be referred to as Tony in Paso. G gifted and signed a Champagne bottle for us to bring home, and showed us some of their special bottles. Overall the whole experience was exceptional and I honestly could not recommend this winery enough.
Well there you have it lovelies, our 3 highlighted wineries from our magnificent Paso Robles trip. I honestly had such an amazing experience being able to travel through such a rich wine area, meeting great business owners and wine makers, and connecting with my family through something that they love. One of my favorite aspects of being a twenty-something has been finding different activities that spark interests that I will carry with me throughout my life. Through this experience it really showed me that wine is much more than just a simple alcoholic drink and every bottle is so different from the next. Wines can vary so much depending on the weather, soil, area, grape, and grower and its amazing to see how much care truly goes into every glass. I have such an appreciation for the wine industry and Im so excited to continue to explore this passion and other wine areas. Thank you again to all of these wineries for connecting with us and we can’t wait to visit again! I hope you all have an amazing weekend and can share a glass of your favorite wine with a loved one.
Stay Safe and Happy Travels!
